I have been working on this painting for weeks, it's been bashed around and changed substantially. i have tried to capture the golden late light in December, where dark shadows creep, even as the late sun shines. I love the atmospheric time of day - and the dark rich colours that can be revealed around the time of the Winter Solstice.

Inspired by this gorgeous, bright, vibrant season!

I love the intensity of some colours, and try to translate what I have seen and experienced onto canvas, with paint as my choice of tool.

This impressionistic painting has paint layered, dripped, painted, spattered and brushed onto the canvas surface to create a rich textured surface.

This 100x100cm painting had white painted edges and is strung with picture cord ready to hang.

I live in Kent, and this garden is painted from a visit to a very lovely quite formal private garden - think large yew hedges, and borders of dahlias, hydrangeas and roses.

I'm going to a birthday party, and planning a lovely cycle in the autumn sunshine.

It's also Armistice day in the UK, 100 years since the end of WW1- so I will be wearing my poppy (proceeds of which support service men and women in Britain today), and listening to and watching events to commemorate this momentous, tragic anniversary.

Abstracted impressionistic landscape.

I originally titled this painting My Walk This Morning, and it's my impression of the gorgeous, golden, yellow, bronze autumn we are having here in Kent. I walk through little copses, on the side of fields and past water and apple orchards on my local walk, everything is bright, warm, picked out by sun and very transitory - a wonderful inspiration.

Serena Hall's Gallery in Southwold

I am very pleased to be sending off more artwork to the lovely Serena Hall Gallery in Southwold. This vibrant gallery has been running very successfully for twenty odd years in picturesque Southwold - and I have been part of their exhibitions for the past four or five years.
