Scottish Light

I am visiting the east coast of Scotland this weekend. I have been before and one of the things that struck me was the amazing light, bright, clear and somehow bringing colour and richness into the landscape. I am not sure how this should be...maybe I need to hunt for a scientific answer. Anyway, it has got me thinking about colour and richness.

My latest commissioned painting

I love to work on large canvasses, and I love to work on commissions so I have counted myself as very lucky to have had the chance to work on this large canvas for American clients. It will hang in a city, and hopefully remind the owners of country fields and grasses!

June, the painting

Here is to the most extraordinarily beautiful June here in the Kent countryside. This painting is inspired by the clear green and pinks in our garden, and by the warm, benevolent sunshine.

Little paintings

I love making little paintings! I find that i can play with colour and shapes in a very small canvas and then translate some of the things I have discovered and liked onto a larger scale.
