Thanks to this lovely client for sending me a great picture of her new painting in situ. This piece is 100x100cm, and uses some florescent paints.

In celebration of green and red

A perfect combination of colours! I love green and red together, this 30x90cm painting uses that alongside yellows, pinks and mauves.

Red alert

I'm working on a red canvas a the moment, it's in my studio and I keep looking at it trying to decide what to do next...it is 30x40cm. Sometimes doing nothing is better than doing something!!

I can find it hard to get a good photographic likeness from a painting, especially when the format is a long rectangle, as in the painting below.  Yellow Bank is 120x40cm and £850.

I hope that you are looking foward to a fun weekend, we are joining some friends on Saturday evening to help celebrate a landmark birthday.....discretion forbids me spilling the beans! I am making the cake, which is the sort of task I love.

I have decided on Nigella Lawson's gorgeous flourless chocolate almond cake. it is most delicious and definitely worth the planning ahead time needed to boil oranges (not the sort of thing I do in my kitchen very often it must be said).

This photo comes from a lady named Courtney on Pinterest, it is made using hazlenut flour, and looks pretty good too.

Talking of gorgeous things I have been spending time with a childhood friend and inspiration this week. The amazing illustrator Brian Wildsmith has definitely influenced me on a deep level. His colours!!

Playing with my new camera

I am having such a wonderful morning experimenting with my new camera. It's an investment with a fabulous lens. Food has burnt on the hob and coffee has got stone cold in the cup....I am currently reading a manual.
