Inspired by the Felling Blue painting in my studio I have been working on this 100x100cm canvas, titled 'Tall Grasses, October.

Again, its the myriad of shades within a small palette which has really fascinated me.

I have amassed so many paint pots in the last six months or so, sometimes I find it hard to keep my mind focused...I am busy thinking about adding in more shades and hues to every canvas. It can be overload.
This painting is very much about the mood colour can evoke. For me, it's all about blue and turquoise, early morning and summer.

Re-working

I find working on larger canvasses wonderful...and re-working something is extremely engaging, here is my re-working of a canvas titled 'Roses And Other Flowers'. It is 110x110cm.

Weekend in my studio

Italian inspiration

Apart from visiting Siena and Arezzo my week in Tuscany has been all about doing very little....spending time staring at olive trees and manicured vineyards is no hardship.

I feel sure some will seep into my paintings via some of the many photos I have been taking.

The local red is pretty decent too :)
