May days

May days are passing remarkably fast for me. I am such a fan of spring and early summer, I find this time of year very energising.

I have started work towards a large show I am having in September, lots of big canvasses are jostling for space in my studio, I am feeling pretty excited and full of ideas.

The small painting below is a hobbit amongst giants!

Warm Air, Cool Breeze
30x30cm
acrylic on canvas
£295

Below are a couple of 30x90 canvasses I sold over the weekend. The canvas proportions intrigue me as they allow a painting to be fairly abstract.

Winter Beach

Studio days

Since moving studios I am spending longer and longer working...or just being in my studio looking at paintings... I have found it incredibly helpful to have paintings around me, ideas can bounce off the work I see and help me move on with the painting I am involved with.

At the moment I am working on two very large canvasses, they barely fit through the door! In conjunction with these I am working on a few smaller pieces with a similar palette.

Very pleased to have sold the painting below. 'Beach' is inspired by the love of my local beach,  Camber Sands. It has a wonderful sense of space, and the grey/blue/sand colours stay with me.
