New direction

I am trying more and more abstract painting alongside my other work. It's a great counterpoint as I am looking at colour and proportion. This is my latest work in progress, a large canvas of 120x120cm, which I have titled 'New World'.

Studio day

Good day in my studio, consolidating some work, and trying out a few new ideas.

New abstracts

I have been working on these more abstracted paintings alongside my other work, starting with 'Conversation With My Garden' which I completed last September. This is the largest one I have tackled at 120x120cm. The stretcher is a new type too, it is very sturdy and 7cm deep which gives the painting lots of presence...although it is very heavy to cart around my studio!!

Saatchi Showdown competition

I have decided to enter the Saatchi Showdown competition, with this huge painting. It is 1x2m, and on a very substantial stretcher which is 7cm deep. The theme of the competition is 'glorious colour', and although this painting is predominately blue, there are many other colours and hues too.
