Re-working 'Sun and Shade, Hot Day'

It is a hot day here, and it has made me look at my painting again, and add  lots of colour and texture to the surface of the canvas.

This small painting has just sold, it is 30x30cm and heralds autumn. It rains a fair bit where I live, the colours of my landscapes frequently contain blues, greens and mauves.

Here are the paintings below.

 1. Cornish Walk.
I made this painting after a weekend away in Cornwall. It was a wild and windy weekend with plenty of rain thrown in for good measure, but very beautiful.

 2 Spring Sketch
One of my favourite times in the year...early spring.

 3. Dusk Light
I find dawn and dusk fleeting and enigmatic.

4. Green Day.
I live in the middle of the Kent countryside. A June day feels like this, green, soft and bright.

Late summer moves to Autumn

I can feel a touch of Autumn in the air... I have just come back from a cycle and seen the first few leaves swirling off trees. I find this a beautiful time of year....

It is currently in the final 300 of their great Showdown competition,  an online competition where artists can showcase their work and be given the chance for it to be judged by internationally acclaimed artists and curators.

Another painting in progress

This one is 50x40cm, and is all about the sky and lots of painted marks with the flowers, I like the textural contrast in the paint. Plenty of room for changes to be made too.

Three days on

New painting in progress

I have titled this one 'Evening in Rose and Indigo'. I have always loved dusk and dawn, they are such transient moments. It is 65x90cm, I will take it back into my studio and add more!

More revisiting....

This time I have taken 'Light Breeze, Summers Green' and added more texture and colur for an intensely coloured painting.

Re working my large painting 'High Summer'

I cannot resist re-working paintings sometimes. I catch sight of them and suddenly a whole new idea comes into my mind. I have spent some time on this painting this week. It is called 'High Summer', if you look at the bottom image you can see how it used to appear!

Two new paintings

I am so pleased to be back in my studio after two weeks away, I have used so many colours in this painting as a celebration. It's large at 10x100cm and bright.
