Inspiration

I live in a house with a slightly ramshackle, heavenly garden, Lucky me! It seems to seep into my work constantly. I took these this morning from my kitchen window, inspired by this lovely blog from Finnish artist, Liivia Sirda. She knows how to photograph, all her pictures are mini works of art. Plus, I love knitting so her projects intrigue me.

I have spent a very happy morning in my studio. I have been working on this painting on and off for months now, it is the partner of After Monet II. I have called it After Monet III (I like to be original!)

Monday morning

Happy Monday!  I have a big to-do list at the top of which is this painting. It is one of several commissions I am involved with at the moment. At 1.2x1.2m it's quite a large piece, a seascape. I had better stop talking about it and start executing....lots more work to do here. I will just have a coffee with maybe a square or two of chocolate (Green and Black's burnt toffee is current favourite!!) to get me in the right frame of mind.

South East OpenStudios

I am taking part in this event for the first time. Looking foward to lots of nice chats with fellow artists, maybe even some customers as well!!
Here is a selection of the work i will take with me, it's mostly framed paintings on watercolour paper.

These four are tiny.... all around 20x20cm, done in Pembrokeshire. The most beautiful coast paths ever. I stayed here, close to St David's.

These are medium sized , 60x40 ish cm. All made on my lane, in various seasons over the past 12 months.
