Commissions

I am working on a large commission at the moment. It is 120x120cm, a beach scene with a huge sky. I enjoy commissions a lot, they often push me slightly out of my comfort zone which is very healthy thing. This painting has had a lot of discussion and thought put into it by my client and me, so I have clear idea of what she is looking for. Now I just need to achieve it!! I will publish a picture when it is a lot more finished, there is even going to be a little homage to her lurcher Poppy.

Third sketch

 

 This is the the third sketch I have made before embarking on some larger pieces. It's all about colour in this picture, the inspiration for subject comes from my local forest, which is full of pathways as well as trees. The other two paintings I will use for  reference in larger paintings are below. All these small pieces are 40x50cm, acrylic on linen.

 

 

Getting my work photographed!

I will be selling prints of some of my artwork via HG Arts, an American company. Take a look at their work here. I am really looking foward to this collaboration.

I am having nine or ten of my paintings photographed this morning...very exciting!! I hope that his and others will look better under the care of an expert. Can't wait to see the results........

New painting on a spring day

Unbelievable! Spring seems to have tentatively arrived in my corner of Kent. I'm so cheerful!! This piece is 100x100cm, more work needed.

More work in progress, I have few paintings in my studio at the moment. I am working on a lot of very watercolour type layers before adding thicker paint - very unexepected results sometimes. Is it the rain outside that is inspiring my watery layers of paint?...(this is rhetorical, don't feel the need to reply).
