Wintery work in progress

I am warming up to winter. These two works in progress are both small, at 30x30cm. The palette is firmly warm greys and pinks.

December painting finished

I have enjoyed working on this 100x100cm canvas. The layering of mark-making is very satisfying.

December fog

I live at the bottom of a hill, fog and mist hangs around here when it has long disappeared elsewhere.

I am working on this larger piece, full of blues, greys, purples, pinks and foggy white. Very December like!

Bright day

I am so enjoying working on this series of small paintings. they are pretty abstract, employing lots of my favourite shapes, colours and textures.

I have been listening to Ruby and the Vines, since I met lead singer Binnie at the weekend...beautiful vocalist, maybe it's put me in the mood for bright intense colours.

Marshland

Marshland. I live quite close to the Romney Marshes, something about the atmosphere there draws me. Great colours and skies too. This smallish painting is 40x40cm, titled 'Marshland'

Advent Calendar

I am part of Artfinder's Advent Calendar! Since eating my first (two!) mince pies I am feeling quite festive, maybe I need to invest in a Christmas jumper as well....

Green painting

I am working on this commissioned 90x90cm painting at the moment. I realise that I use more green, blue and white paint that any other colours....England is a green and rainy place!

Autumn Bank

maybe I need to get out in my garden and do some weeding and cutting back, I love the wonderful colours at the moment though. The sun filtering all those leaves and stalks is an arresting sight.

Summer Colour

This painting is a companion piece to 'Piles of Autumn Leaves' which is pictured underneath. they are both 40x40cm. It is titled 'Summer Colour'.

Both these quite abstract paintings are experimenting with the idea of intense colour in small doses, surrounded by a sea of light. I have them hanging together at home at the moment, and i am enjoying looking at them.

Monday morning sun

I was able to deliver this commissioned painting personally over the weekend. I was intrigued to see where it will hang, I think it will suit the space well.

Now I am getting on with some autumnal paintings in my studio. The sun is out, and my very thick jacket is getting an outing too....it's chilly!

Beginning

The first few layers on a canvas are always exciting, I am never certain what may grow from the start of a painting. Not having an end point is liberation, but trouble too!

Me and my big painting

This is me, standing with my latest painting, 150x150cm...nearly finished.....

Sunny Wednesday

I have had the most stunning walk through my local forest today, beautiful leaves of many hues.

I have also had a great day on Saatchi Online, as they have sold five of my paintings. I am so grateful...and a bit overwhelmed! Her are the paintings in question...as they get couriered to their new homes, I'd better get packing.
