Re-think

I have been working on this painting for a while. It is 70x70cm, quite small for me. I have been thinking about scale, and the power of a limited colour palette. Look back to 24th November to see the last incarnation of this piece, the canvas is rich with marks and paint.

A Winters Day

This painting is 90x90cm. It is so wintry here, snow is covering the ground and the sky is grey/white. Colours are leached out of the landscape.

Gold Boat

This little painting on watercolour paper has been in my kitchen for a week or two, I have just been looking at it. I think that i will use it as a sketch for a larger painting.

Orchard drawings

I will keep on working on these drawings, even though the leaves are falling very rapidly off the trees here. Autumn is descending!

Orchard painting

I have been working on this, it is 57x75cm, and it would be great if I could keep the spontaneity of the image.

Pinks no longer

From the blog in May called warm colours, this painting has been completed. Now I am really enjoying this painting, the balance of colours has changed and actually become more muted.

The next few months

Very pleased to have sold at the Kent and Sussex Art fair, now I am focused on paintings for The Cambridge Art Fair, and for a new gallery I am showing with in Godalming called the Seascape Gallery. I will have work there in August. I have also been accepted to show my work at the Brighton Art Fair in September.
Can't wait to see my paintings from Pembrokeshire framed up. It's a few weeks away, I will publish a few pictures of them when I get them back.

View from Trevaccoon House

Just outside St Davids, this beautiful house has a wonderful view over farmland to the coast.

Abermawr Beach

Gorse just coming out...a heady smell as well as a dashing punctuation to the coast path.

A view over to Ramsey Island, formerly housing a monastery, now a sanctuary for birds.
Porthgain Harbour.....I just love this place!

St David's lifeboat station

Stunning coastline, with Ramsey island just out to sea.

Fishguard, Pembrokeshire

Just back from a great few days in Pembrokeshire. Spent all my time drawing and painting mixed media pieces, along the coast of North Pembrokeshire, from Fishguard to St David's.

The pictures above are all mixed media on watercolour paper, 15x57cm (approx)
